Perpetual Bugs: ROBLOX Update Gripes

If you're an avid ROBLOX player on PC, chances are you've stumbled upon this error before: an endlessly looping "Getting the latest ROBLOX...". This issue has plagued users since the early days of ROBLOX, and continues even to this day.

However, instead of addressing the problem openly, if at all, the ROBLOX developer team has taken to ignoring this widespread issue and has instead turned its focus towards other platforms, essentially leaving PC gamers in the dust when it comes to platform stability.

When you search for "Getting the latest ROBLOX loop," a FAQ page shows up, which "helpfully" lets you know that you should uninstall the game and apparently repeatedly install it until, finally, the game works. This, of course, is a game of pure chance.

Re-installing ROBLOX multiple times can be quite a hassle
After having gotten the game to work after 7 or so tries, I returned to despair a few days later, when the launcher received yet another update and restarted the mind-boggling cycle of ROBLOX installation trial and error.

This issue is by no means a recent development, and the presence of a help page on the ROBLOX website acknowledges that fact. However, I would be lying if I said that I'm perfectly happy with how the bug has been addressed so far.

This problem with the launcher on PC's proves to be a serious flaw in stability, and should serve as a reminder to developers to not count their eggs before they hatch. Instead of suddenly branching out to cover every conceivable platform, they should first make sure that their existing platforms are receiving adequate attention and support.

The Removal of Tix: A Look Back

ROBLOX removed their free currency "Tix" in 2016 Logging in every day to get free money, who wouldn't want that? ROBLOX used to award players 10 tickets, or "Tix" as they were abbreviated, for logging in every day to use to buy hats, clothing, and gear. However, as the game grew in popularity, the folks at ROBLOX began seeing less and less of a reason to reward people for logging in. "The games are what will bring them," they thought. Were they right?
