Solid Modeling and Other New Features

For those of you who haven't been keeping up with the times, ROBLOX has recently updated their Studio tool to include some new features, all categorized under a new label: Solid Modeling.

Now, players are able to join multiple bricks into one single new brick with the "Union" tool and are able to take out portions of a brick with the new "Negation" tool. However, ROBLOX has also removed the "free scaling" property they had previously implemented that allowed users to resize bricks into very small and flat shapes. The smallest size for re-sizing a brick after the update has been reverted to the old standard, which is to say, a 1,1.2,1 sized brick.

Besides that one small problem, ROBLOX's new update has made building that much easier for many players. Not only can brick collisions now be turned off in studio mode (so you can put bricks into each other), you can also choose the scaling factor of all bricks. This has basically destroyed the use of CFrame.

I can't wait to see what you guys build with these awesome new tools! Be sure to stay tuned for more news on ROBOX.

ROBLOX used to award players 10 tickets, or "Tix" as they were abbreviated, for logging in every day to use to buy hats, clothing, and gear. However, as the game grew in popularity, the folks at ROBLOX began seeing less and less of a reason to reward people for logging in. "The games are what will bring them," they thought. Were they right?
